"Contact Has Begun" Sparks Controversy

This is not a book review, though I would like everyone to read "The
Contact Has Begun" by Phillip Krapf. I'm not endorsing the truthfulness of
the information. It is more important that you understand the implications
of it being true or false. This is one book, that I'm sure will leave you
wondering, and that's why it is important.
In his book, "The Contact Has Begun", Phillip Krapf (I don't know how to
pronounce it) tells of his unlikely abduction by beings that call
themselves the Verdant, who have reached the "Absolute" level of
intelligence, have come to save the world, and chose him, among many
others, to be an ambassador of their message. To those of us who have
lived on the lunatic fringe for the last 4 or 5 years, this is hardly
surprising. What gives this some credibility is that Phillip Krapf has a
30 year reputation as a journalist and managing editor of the Los Angeles
Times newspaper, as well as a skeptic and non-believer in UFOs, abductions
and the like. He writes, in a journalistic way, about the events,
conversations, and experiences he had during 3 days in June of 1997. He
was unexpectedly abducted by a transporting device that literally removed
him from his bedroom, through the house and into a waiting saucer,
whereupon he awakens from unconsciousness aboard a star ship positioned on
the far-side of the Moon. He is then indoctrinated and informed that he is
to be the first of many, over the next 5 years or so to bring humanity to
the understanding and undeniable truth, that extraterrestrials are here,
and they intend to land and setup a huge education center, and within a few
years, make Earth a qualified member of the Galactic Confederation.
Gee, where have we heard this story before? Yes, like so many other
stories we have heard, Phillip Krapf is telling us that a highly advanced
civilization or extraterrestrials is going to intervene in the affairs of
mankind, and bring about a Utopian life for all of us. Is this what is
going to happen? There isn't anyway to prove it one way or the other, but
Krapf tells us that we'll know for sure before 2003. For purposes of
discussion I'd like you to make the assumption that the book is not a
retired journalist's attempt to make a fast buck by publishing an
outrageous work of fiction. Let's say Krapf was, in fact, abducted by
aliens and told to write this book in order to inform, those who would
listen, of a quantum shift in our reality where we will be exploring our
galaxy in our own star ships by the year 2010. Here's the plan.
Starting around 2002, these 2 years will be full of various events and
announcements that will bring, all of humanity, to a point where we will be
expecting a most wondrous event, sometime in 2005. "Sometime in the year
2004, the spectacular events that the Verdants promised to stage will
occur. As noted earlier, these phenomena will be so dazzling that no
reasonable person could doubt their extraterrestrial origins." The book
goes on to say that in 2005, 600 square miles of the Southwest United
States, will be transformed overnight, into a lush, green grassland, and
the city, Genesis will arise. This will be a huge education center, where
for the next 3 years, humankind will be trained and educated to be proper
members of the "Intergalactic Federation of Sovereign Planets" and.... "the
United Governments of Earth will have been formed, with Genesis as the
capital."
Now what do you think will be happening in regard to "life as you know it"
between now and 2005? Will there be a point where politicians begin
attacking prominent and credible people who are going to verify and
validate this story? That's going to start in 2002. Is there a chance
that religious groups will believe this is really going to happen and
fervently attack or support cooperation with aliens? Do you see the
possibility, that leaders and men of high authority will take action to
mitigate the process? When? Before 2002 or after?
If the story is true, and this plan will unfold as described, do you see
the possibility that a majority of people will come to understand that
their jobs, and functions in life will seem meaningless and soon to be
obsolete because advanced technology and new directions for humanity is
upon them? What will they do about it? Will there come a time where the
only reason you watch TV is to get the latest on the alien agenda? When
would that be? 2003? 2004? No matter what, everything is going to get a
big reshuffle come 2005. What about the secret governments that have been
plotting to control the world? Are they just going to shrug their
shoulders and say, "Oh well, doesn't look like we'll get to take over after
all." What action do you think they will want to take and who or what will
stop them? When? I can go on and on but the point is, that if this story
is true (and you got to read the book before you can even speculate),
things are going to move rapidly between 2001 and 2004, and I advise doing
what's necessary to get as independent from cities, government, and
bureaucracy as possible, before 2001. That only gives you 3 years to get
your act together and be relatively self-sufficient. Chances are, you'll
have to survive through some chaotic and uncomfortable times for about 2
years.
I can already hear the cat-calls... "Negative scenario! There doesn't
have to be "chaotic times". We create our own reality and you shouldn't be
supporting fear... blah, blah, blah." Get real guys. I'm not promoting
fear, or giving energy to negative scenarios or any of that. I'm merely
pointing out the obvious, "cause and effect" relationship, between the way
things are now and what is bound to happen if this scenario develops. How
can things remain stable, and status quo if a bunch of aliens are coming
down to teach us all about being galactic humans? I'll tell you this,
though. There are a lot of things about this scenario that make me nervous.
For now, I'm still assuming the whole thing is true. First of all, you
will note in this report, that the Verdants look upon their mission to
induct us into the Confederation as a "matter-of-fact", do-it-all-the-time,
part of their job as superior, civilized, beings of the galaxy. It's what
they do. According to them, Earth has reached the point, just like
millions of worlds have done in the past, where we have the technology to
explore beyond our planetary realm. It is at this point, that the
Verdants, in cooperation with the Federation of Sovereign Planets, and part
of a God-given mission, to interrupt a planet's usual plans. It is at this
stage of development that a planet must learn about a really big
organization that controls and directs the etiquette in exploring space,
and interacting with other civilizations. They will be arriving here, to
offer education and training in order to bring us up to speed,
technologically, and spiritually. Their doesn't seem to be any room for
opposition, or negotiation about it, however. In other words, "this is the
way it is going to be, you will love it and embrace it, and that's all
there is to it. They even point out, that they have come upon
civilizations that had advanced into space before they arrived, and had to
quarantine them back to their planetary systems for a few more hundred
years of social advancement. In other words, there are lots of beings
flying around the Universe, and they don't allow, unloving, dangerous,
civilization to freely roam. They point out that Earth is borderline, but
they are confident that with a little training, we can fit in just fine.
The main criterion is the capacity to love and have compassion.
The question was asked if they had a plan to handle unruly and opposing
forces. They made it clear that they've done this millions of time before,
and that although our civilization offers some unique challenges there is
nothing that won't be handled in a loving and enlightened manner. There
was some indication that they did expect opposition from certain people
that could create great harm and destruction and hinted that those people
would be "handled" before they caused harm. This is a civilization that
claims to be a couple hundred million years old. They live for about
20,000 years, and can certainly handle any threat posed by our governments
and military. They did say that there will be people who cannot or will
not learn, or allow themselves to cooperate under any circumstances. These
people will be separated from the "rest of us" and allowed to live out
their lives in comfort. However they will not be allowed the privileges
and wondrous adventure ahead for the rest and they will not procreate. In
other words, the opposition will eventually die off. I'm not sure. Is
there anything wrong with this picture?
Now before you get all paranoid, read the book. It is not as sinister as
I make it sound. When you get the whole story, everything seems very
benevolent. The biggest problem I have with the story is that it's not
supposed to be this way. I'll admit it sounds better than some of the
stories I've heard, but there isn't any mention of the arrival of the
spiritual hierarchy, or some fantastic energy that makes us all remember
our past, or become telepathic. In fact, what concerns me most about this
story is what was left out.
We've been hearing for years, how there are many other ET civilizations
that have interests in Earth. We have been hearing there are conflicts and
opposition to the plans and outcomes. Krapf didn't learn anything about
that. It was as if none of that is true. There has been talk and
convincing evidence to support the notion that a great spiritual revival
will sweep the Earth, and the destiny of humanity is Ascension and
interaction with the spiritual realm. There wasn't any mention of that
either.
One thing you might take into consideration is that Krapf was an atheist,
and disbelieved all abduction stories until that fateful night.
Consequently, he has never been part of the UFO crowd, and did not have
anything to do with spirituality, or newage stuff. He didn't know who
Drunvalo was, or Art Bell, or Whitley Streiber, and probably never attended
a MUFON or CSETI meeting. He would not know what to ask. What bothers me
is that the Verdant didn't volunteer to clue him in, either.
Fact is, if you believe Krapf's story, you have to believe that colossal
hoaxes have been perpetrated on us for decades. Taken by itself, Krapf's
story is very believable. You can be sure he's not deluded. There are
only three reasons his story could be false. Either he made it all up in
order to make money, or something happened to him that made him just think
it all happened, or he could be part of a conspiracy, working on behalf of
some sinister organization that is out to deceive humanity. There isn't
anyway to know for sure.
There is one other possibility. Phillip Krapf could have been abducted
and everything he wrote about actually happened, but the aliens lied to
him. It could be that the aliens do have thousands of ambassadors ready to
verify this story in a year or two, who, just like Krapf, believe these
aliens are here to usher in our "new age" and are endorsed by the Creator.
That could be the "big lie". The Verdant, could be just one other alien
race attempting to create a cooperative environment for their own agenda.
They come across much like Sheldon Nidle's Sirians. They are totally
confident that they are complying with all just and rightful action, are
endorsed by the spiritual hierarchy, and will execute a flawless plan to
educate humanity. If I remember right, Sheldon's Sirians were going to
make us all enlightened in 16 hours, 28 minutes, or something like that.
The Verdant don't seem quite so advanced. You have to admit, after a
while, the whole thing starts sounding like lunacy.
I want you to read this book and let me know what you think because I'm
not sure what to think of it. It leaves so many unanswered questions that
it is sure to simulate your thinking. Sorry to say, the first printing is
sold out, and we don't know any stores that have it. However, Center of

"The Great Experiment" of April '98

Last issue, I reported regarding "The Great Experiment" conducted by James
Twyman, author of "Emissaries of Light". The idea was for everyone to take
a moment on April 23rd to follow a repertoire that included meditation and
a set of affirmations. Apparently, the theory is that a special
circumstance or condition will be created if a large number of people do
this at the same time, and in this case, the result will cause peace and
love to grow faster and better than if nobody participated. In other
words, a group, meditating with like intent, is more effective than
meditating alone, and meditation and affirmations actually have a causative
effect on the focus of thought. There is a lot of belief in this theory,
and for good reason. However, I think many people have rationalized how
they think it works, and have come to the wrong conclusion. If we can
understand all the subtle mechanisms involved in the manifestation of the
result, we could be more effective, and love, peace and happiness would
grow faster, and soon be prevalent, world wide.
I read the book, "Emissaries of Light". It was a good story, apparently
true, about a musician who met with wise and Masterful beings of light
while touring Bosnia and Croatia, in the midst of the strife going on
there. Since then, the author has brought, through musical concerts,
wonderful loving experiences to other desperate areas of the world,
including Iraq. It would seem, some profound, positive changes have
occurred in the areas he has visited and this could be attributed to the
success of his mission to spread love and peace. The only thing we know
for sure is that there is coincidence between the intent and the result.
This is because it is all one thing.
In order for peace on Earth to manifest, and be permanent human psychology
and reactions to events and circumstances in life must change. The Great
Experiment was a great idea, even if didn't cause "the world to shift and
the moment we have all been waiting for will arrive". That didn't happen.
There was a condition, however. The condition was "if enough people do
this". Apparently, not enough did, but I hope you don't miss the point.
It will happen when enough do. Meaning, that much more must be done, that
you can't just sit around and meditate, but you have to be actively working
on improving yourself, allowing yourself to be a better person than you
were yesterday and to spread the philosophy of love and light. Leaders of
the world must still have their minds changed, negotiations must continue
in order to resolve conflicts, and people suffering from injustice, and are
filled with rage and pain must find relief. And from time to time, we can
all stop for a moment, and contemplate world peace and healing while in a
meditative state. If everyone keeps doing their best, sooner or later,
there will be a "coincidence", when enough people gather together to
celebrate unity of intent and we will finally know, we have done it. Peace
will reign.
It's not the meditating, it's not doing it all at the same time, it's not
the clever negotiators that will cause the shift. It is the whole thing.
We really don't need a schedule, it is just as important for you to make
those affirmations, and contemplate ideas of love and light today as it was
on April 23rd. If you make it a habit, you will be doing it simultaneously
with someone, somewhere, even if you don't know it, until one day we will
all be in love at the same moment. That day will not go unnoticed. A shift
will have occurred.
I honor these efforts to bring people together. We need to practice
"answering the call", so when the time comes, we can all arise, in like
mind and intent, and say, "No more!" In the meantime, we must survive, and
prepare to meet an uncertain future, but one that will lead to a life of
comfort, freedom, and growth for all of humanity.
Most of us need to live at least two lives. One is designed to handle
your immediate needs. You need to make money, you need to handle your
emotional and physical problems, and then you also have to look ahead a few
years, and make preparations so that you can drop what you are doing and
live elsewhere, and do something else in order to survive. It is likely
that few of you will be employed as, or doing what you do now, 5 years from
now. Stuff is going to happen that will change everything. I've been
saying that for two years, now. This time I think I'm right, whether I
believe it or not.

SUDDEN INCREASE IN UFO SIGHTINGS
Peter Davenport of the UFO Reporting Center reports a wave of sightings
from across the United States on Monday and Tuesday nights, April 20 &21,
1998. Reports were coming in from Phoenix, Arizona, Martinsburg, West
Virginia, Austin and Houston, Texas, Boise, Idaho, Portland, Oregon and the
Fresno and Palmdale, California. The reports are mixed between lights and
actual craft being sighted. A woman in Martinsburg, WV reportedly video
taped a craft and was sending it. Tower operators at Edwards Air Force Base
also reported strange craft near their base. Thanks to the UFO Reporting

The UFOs are back and we will be going on a Skywatch stakeout tonight near
where some local people have been seeing the amber orbs. Here is the story
from the newspaper today:

Residents report flying craft. This story appeared in the Antelope Valley
Press April 25, 1998. By BOB WILSON Valley Press Staff Writer ROSAMOND -
Authorities say nothing was there, but about a dozen people who called the
Valley Press Thursday night claimed something was. That something was
described as a large craft lingering above the Albertson's grocery store at
about 9:15 p.m. It made no noise, but its lights caused motorists to park
and gawk, and some to call the newspaper.
On Friday, Kern County deputies at the Rosamond sheriff's station, about a
mile from the grocery store, said they had no reports of such sightings.
Air Force Plant 42 spokeswoman Lorraine Sadler said she, too, had no
information on the event. "And we have some military people that live in
Rosamond, too," Sadler said.
Edwards Air Force Base public information officer Gary Hatch said base
operations reported no flights scheduled in that area at that time of
night. The base's command post also had taken no reports of any craft,
either known or unknown, in the area, Hatch said. Calls about the object
began flowing to the Valley Press shortly after 9 p.m., copy chief Jana
Treece said.
"After the first couple of calls, we all said, `Yeah, OK, sure' " Treece
said. "But between about 9:15 and 11 (p.m.), we received a dozen calls from
people who were either on their way to the Albertson's to do some shopping
or who were eating at the (nearby) Taco Bell.
"For the most part, everyone gave the same description," Treece said.
That description was of a large object, not quite octagonal in shape,
between 100 yards and 200 yards in length, with orange and yellow lights
around its bottom surface. "One of (the callers) said cars were pulling
off to the side of the road to check the object out," Treece said.
Suggestions that the object was a helicopter blurred by windy, hazy
weather conditions were discounted by those calling, she said. "Everyone
said it was not a helicopter because there was no noise associated with
it," Treece said.
Of those who called, "I couldn't get anybody to leave a name," she said.
While she and her co-workers occasionally field similar types of calls,
"we don't get so many all on the same night and all calling about the same
thing," she said.
Hatch surmised the object could have been a helicopter with a lighted
billboard attached to the bottom, akin to the ones that occasionally buzz
the games of the Lancaster Jet Hawks baseball team.
If the object really was 200 yards in length, "it would have been bigger
than the Albertson's store," he said.
Although the JetHawks were on the field Thursday evening, the field they
were playing on was in Visalia. Mitch Barker, public affairs specialist
for the Federal Aviation Administration, also reported no information on
the object. "We checked with our air-traffic control facilities, and there
was nothing logged during that shift, so I don't know what to tell you,"
Barker said.
However, it's possible that something in the sky over Rosamond might have
been missed. "A lot of people think we have surveillance of the skies
taking place at all times, but that's not true," Barker said. "Our people
are looking at where the airplanes are actually flying and concentrating on
keeping them apart."

UFOs CAUSE TWO MORE BLACKOUTS IN BARILOCHE
Two more unexplained power failures blacked out Bariloche last week at the
same time people reported seeing UFOs passing overhead. The city, also
known as San Carlos de Bariloche, is a popular resort in the Andes of
Argentina. Located on the south shore of Lago (Lake) Nahuel Huapi, the
city is about 1,040 kilometers (650 miles) southwest of Buenos Aires.
The first in the series of inexplicable blackouts took place Sunday, April
12, 1998 when witnesses reported seeing two UFOs "fuse together" over Cerro
Carbon (hill).
On Tuesday night, April 14, 1998, "a great part of the city was totally
darkened." Cooperativa Electricidade de Bariloche (CEB), the city's power
company, traced the source of the blackout to the transmission lines along
the Avenida Bustico near the transformer substation at Puerto Moreno. CEB
said the sobrecorriente (power surge) "was five to six times greater than
normal."
In the barrio Melipal, eyewitness Julio Posse stated, "I saw an
interesting glow to the east of the Cerro Otto (hill). With my family I
saw it from my yard. My sons shouted, 'Papa, the OVNIs!' (Spanish acronym
for UFOs--J.T.) All I said was 'Yes, the OVNIs.'"
According to the newspaper Diario La Manana del Sur, "Officially no one
has cited the word OVNI. But, to all of the questions, no one (at CEB) can
explain the phenomenon. The lines were hit with a charge of 1,050 amperes.
The automatic meters at the transformer substation Los Cipresales
indicated the same surge at the moment during which witnesses sighted OVNIs
last Sunday in the skies over Bariloche."
CEB spokesman Luis Baigorria said, "At present we do not have an
explanation that can determine the cause of the surge."
Claudio Campo, an engineer for CEB, said, "That which occurred Tuesday
night was identical to the incident Sunday. But in this case it was
reported by the meters at the substation in Puerto Moreno."
The third blackout occurred Thursday night, April 16, 1998. Again
Bariloche was completely blacked out for several hours.
Meanwhile reports of UFO sightings poured in from the Lago Nahuel Huapi
shore and the hills and valleys east of Bariloche. A man named Zuber
"videotaped an OVNI about 15 kilometers from home, near School #255 at the
intersection of Rutas 23 and 237. His three-minute tape shows a great
black object with a light that 'shines intently and incessantly' with
twinkling red, blue, yellow and green lights. The object can be seen with
better clarity when he zooms in. A slight luminous halo surrounds the
object."
Zuber's Sony camcorder tape was aired on Canal (Channel) 6's noontime news
broadcast in Bariloche the following day. Other witnesses reported seeing
"two or three OVNIs" flying eastward over the city towards Cerro Leon"

CIGAR-SHAPED UFO HOVERS OVER A STADIUM IN ECUADOR
A luminous, cigar-shaped UFO hovered over the municipal stadium in
Guayaquil, Ecuador on Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at 7 p.m., interrupting a
professional futbol (soccer in the USA--J.T.) game.
Guayaquil, Ecuador's port city on the Pacific Ocean, is located 380
kilometers (224 miles) southwest of Quito, the national capital.
The game pitted the Guayaquil pro futbol team against the pro team from
Barcelona.
Midway through the game, people in the stands noticed "a very bright
light" rising in the southwest sky. As it drew nearer, more and more
spectators pointed it out and shouted. The UFO was described as "a white
cigar-shaped object surrounded by a strong luminosity."
The UFO crossed the city and then hovered over the stadium for ten
minutes. A cameraman for Canal (Channel) 7 in Guayaquil, who was covering
the game, aimed his videocam at the object. His footage was broadcasted by
Canal 7 the following day.
The UFO flew away to the north "at a tremendous velocity." (See the

FIRST CROP CIRCLE APPEARS IN ISRAEL
On Thursday, April 16, 1998, Israel Television Channel One broadcast an
interview with Golan Nasrir, 30, an Israeli Arab who discovered a crop
circle in a wheat field in the Emeq Yisreel (Valley of Jezreel.)
The crop circle was found near the village of Bet Zarzir, located about 40
kilometers (24 miles) southeast of Haifa.
According to Israeli journalist Barry Chamish, "On the evening of April
12, a resident of the Jezreel Valley Arab village of Bet Zarzir heard dogs
bark wildly, looked outside and saw small lights darting in a nearby wheat
field. The next day he told his friend Golan Nasrir about the incident,
and he (Golan) went to the field, thus discovering the crop circle."
Chamish described the crop circle as "a 26-meter half-circle with an
equally long and straight 'tail' attached."
"Within the circle were seven round pods in the mud. All vegetation
within was killed, and the ground was severely dessicated compared to the
surrounding soil. In four of the pods, the soil was covered with a white
powder, while, in the other three pods, there was a red oily fluid."
Israeli ufologist Gil Bar painstakingly took samples of the white powder
and red oil. Chamish showed the samples to Dr. Marvin Antleman, who
reportedly speculated that the oil might be a derivative of cobalt. Dr.
Antleman is making arrangements to have the samples analyzed in a

UFOs AGAIN ACTIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
On Saturday, April 18, 1998, at 8:30 p.m., Richard Macedo was at his home
in Temple City, California (population 31,100), a suburb of Los Angeles,
with his wife and sister. Macedo is a 39-year-old quality assurance
manager for a Boeing subcontractor.
"My sister saw it first," Richard reported, "She was looking east and saw
the object in a one o'clock position. She was sitting under a 2-foot eaves
so I imagine her viewing angle was around 80 degrees. My wife responded to
my sister's shouting and spied the object somewhat lower in the sky."
"I saw the final part of its descent with a large tree in the foreground,
and it seemed to be blinking as the foliage partially blocked out my view.
But my sister claimed it was blinking all the way down, even when it was in
the open sky. It appeared to be falling at an 85 degrees angle."
The trio watched the UFO from their porch near the intersection of Olive
Street and Halifax Road in Temple City. Richard said the UFO was "utterly
silent" and might have gone down in the area of lower Azusa Avenue.
"The object appeared to be illuminating the roof of the church next
door...I thought I might have noticed a bluish glow from the bottom of the
object before it vanished completely." (Email Interview)
On Wednesday, April 22, 1998, Cinde Costello of San Bernardino MUFON
received a phone call from a woman employed by the Job Corps. The woman
reported that "fifty people had witnessed three bright lights heading east
towards the Big Bear mountain area" at about 8:30 p.m.
San Bernardino (population 164,164) is located 65 miles (84 kilometers)
east of Los Angeles.
At first the woman "thought they might be hang gliders with lights." She
described the UFOs as "the lights were bright amber-yellow and appeared to
be floating or hovering. The three objects then began to move south and
changed color from amber to bright red. The objects were viewed for more
than 10 minutes."
The UFOs were an estimated one mile from the 50 witnesses. Some claimed
to have seen a "wing-like structure or an object with what she described as
'like a seagull's wings.'"
According to Cinde Costello, a gull-winged UFO was seen over San
Bernardino on January 5, 1998. (Many thanks to Jerry Glass and Cinde

FLYING-WING UFO SIGHTED OVER SAN FRANCISCO
On Saturday, April 18, 1998, at 10:15 p.m., designers Amy S. and Jennifer
K. were in the backyard of a home near Army Street in San Francisco
(population 723,959) when Amy spotted a strange-looking object high in the
sky.
Jennifer reported, "The object was moving northwest" over the city "really
slow, way up. We were out looking at the stars--looking for satellites. No
sound, no trail. We had it in view for 35 to 40 seconds."
"There was no fuselage. It looked like a wing flying in the air. No tail
section," she added. "Wings were not bigger than the fuselage because there
wasn't any." The object was primarily "perpendicular wings with some
sweeping back, the ends were bent slightly. It was moving in a forward
direction. There was no glow, just a faint gray color. Other friends of
ours didn't see it because it was so fast. It seemed very high up." (Email
Interview) MARFA MYSTERY
LIGHTS DAZZLE FAMILY IN TEXAS
On March 13, 1998, at 7 p.m., Nicole Prescott and her grandmother, mother
and sister were at their home near Marfa, Texas (population 2,424) when the
area's most puzzling phenomenon--the Marfa Lights--made a sudden appearance.
The lights appeared "at 70 to 75 degrees above the horizon. They were
crackling bright lights of white and orange."
Nicole reported, "They seemed to come towards you. Some were the size of a
basketball. Others were no bigger than the head of a pencil."
The Marfa Lights were first reported in 1881 by a local cowboy. A
Japanese scientific team videotaped them in 1994. Science has never been
able to explain the mysterious darting lights, which usually appear over
Mitchell's Flat, southwest of Chinati Mountain.
Marfa is at the junction of U.S. Highways 67 and 90, about 194 miles (310
kilometers) southeast of El Paso.
According to Nicole, a local man was driving across the flat prairie north
of the Cuseto del Punto mountains last winter when a Marfa light entered
his car through the rear window, hovered over the back seat hissing and
crackling, and then vanished several minutes later. (See American UFO

SATURN-SHAPED UFO BACK IN NORTH CAROLINA
On Monday, April 20, 1998, Stefan Duncan, editor of American UFO
Newsletter (AUFON) began a skywatch "on a pier approximately 300 yards (270
meters) east of Panter's Point" on High Rock Lake. The lake is located
just east of Salisbury, North Carolina (population 23,087), a city on
Highway 29 about 115 miles (184 kilometers) west of Raleigh.
At 9:45 p.m., "looking towards the east end of the lake, I saw my reddish
UFO," Duncan reported. "Similar to the one I saw April 2, an object whose
light was a non-blinking reddish-white" with "the shape of Saturn when the
rings are seen edge on. The object was probably a mile down the lake. The
object rose from the treetops and hovered for about five minutes and then
descended."
At 10 p.m., the UFO "moved from the treetops but just to the top of the
trees and went no higher." An attempt to videotape the object failed when
Duncan's camcorder jammed. "It stayed in position for two seconds before
descending."
At 10:14 p.m., "the object rose a third time but just over the treetops.
It brightened, then went back to normal glow. After two minutes, it
descended."
The UFO flap began December 15, 1997 when local resident James Minster
spotted four flat discs hovering over High Rock Lake. (See American UFO

WHITE TUBULAR UFO SEEN IN NORTHERN NEW JERSEY
On Friday, April 17, 1998, at 7:30 p.m., Sam Sherman and his wife were
driving to dinner on Route 516 in Old Bridge, New Jersey (population
6,090), heading for nearby East Brunswick, when Sam spotted a UFO.
"Directly overhead storm clouds were gathering, although low on the
horizon," Sherman reported. "The sky was still blue and the sun was shining
brightly prior to setting. I looked up in the sky and saw what looked like
a contrail between two clouds. It was like no contrail (condensation
trail--J.T.) I had ever seen, and it moved forward in a northerly direction
(towards New York City--J.T.) but did not have a tail or vapor or smoke
behind it."
"This was of definite and finite length. To describe what I saw, as
follows--at arm's length, it appeared to be 3 or 4 inches (6 or 8
centimeters) in length and tubular in shape. The color was white but with
luminescent color overlying a bluish-green tinge. As the sun appeared to be
behind it, the object did not appear to be reflecting the sun's rays...The
tubular bright object was moving north and threading its way through the
clouds." He eventually lost sight of the UFO "behind a dark cloud to the

GLOWING TRIANGULAR UFO SIGHTED IN FRANCE
On Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at 11:40 p.m., law clerk T. Tony was at his
home on the Rue d'Authie in the quartier Chemin Vert in Caen, a city in
northern France, when he spied a triangular UFO.
"I found myself at home when my attention was drawn to the window by a
luminosity in the night sky, which that night was very clear," M. Tony
reported. "The moon was in its first quarter but could not be seen, the
wind slight and there were few clouds. It (the UFO) appeared to be a
luminous mass, vaguely triangular, like a triangle with rounded edges but
very sharp in the front. It was a bright orange luminosity, with a band of
light red across the middle that was quite visible. It was followed by a
red rectilinear hind part. There weren't any beacons or clusters of lights."
"The object was in rapid descent when I saw it, but without any noise. In
20 seconds, the object performed a multitude of aerobatic maneuvers that
did not appear to have any logical purpose, passing in pirouette and
looping without ever changing its speed. Then it left my field of view,
and I saw nothing more."
Caen is in Normandy, in the department Calvados, about 250 kilometers (150
miles) west of Paris. (Merci beaucoup a Franck Marie et Banque OVNI pour

battle of World War II.)
FLOURESCENT GREEN UFO SPOTTED IN AUSTRALIA
On Saturday, April 4, 1998, at 10:30 p.m., residents of Healesville,
Victoria state, Australia spotted "a flouro (flourescent) green
illumination crossing the northern sky."
The UFO flew very quickly and "traveled from the east to the north, taking
about five seconds to pass. There was no sound, no tail and no trail. The
respondents described it as 'a green fireball.' It appeared to be the size
of a half-moon."
Healesville is 120 kilometers (72 miles) northeast of Melbourne. (Many

Below is an email we received and the timing was perfect. I have been
facing emotional turmoil with a family member and in doing so found that I
had not cleared up a lot of issues that I thought I had. You've heard
people tell you "Let go & give it to God" and I did that. But before I let
it go I experienced heartache only a parent could relate to. I sent this to
my child with the hope that they would understand that judgment of another
person does not serve either.
A Definition of Unconditional Love

I love you as you are as you seek to find your own special way to
relate to the world, or the way you feel that is right for you. It is
important that you are the person you want to be and not someone that I or
others think you should be.
I realize that I cannot know what is best for you although perhaps
sometimes I think I do. I've not been where you have been, viewing life
from that angle you have, I do not know what you have chosen to learn how
you have chosen to learn it with whom or in what time period. I have not
walked life looking through your eyes so how can I know what you need.
I allow you to be in the world without a thought or word of judgment
from me about the deeds you undertake. I see no error in the things you
say and do, in this place where I am. I see that there are many ways to
perceive and experience the different facets of our world. I allow without
reservation the choices you make in each moment.
I make no judgment of this for if I were to deny your right to
evolution than I would deny that right to myself and all others. To those
who would choose a way I cannot walk, while'st I may not choose to add my
power and my energy to this way, I will never deny you the gift of love
that God has bestowed within me for all creation, as I love you so I shall
be loved, as I sow, so I shall reap.
I allow you the universal right of free will to walk your own path,
creating steps or to sit a while if that is what is right for you. I will
make no judgment of these steps, whether they are large or small, nor light
or heavy or that they lead up or down, for this is just my viewpoint. I
see you do nothing and judge it to be unworthy and yet it may be that you
bring great healing as you stand blessed by the light of God.
I cannot always see the higher picture of divine order. For it is the
inalienable right of all life to choose their own evolution and with great
love I acknowledge your right to determine your future. In humility I bow
to the realization that the way I see is best for me does not have to mean
that it is also right for you. I know that you are led as I am following
the inner excitement to know your own path.
I know that the many races, religions, customs, nationalities and
beliefs within our world bring us great richness and allow us the benefit
of teachings of such diverseness. I know we each learn in our own unique
way in order to bring that love and wisdom back to the whole. I know that
if there were only one way to do something, there would need to be only one
person. I will not only love you if you behave in a way I think you
should, or believe in those things I believe in, I understand you are
truly my brother and sister though you may have been born in a different
place and believe in another God than I.
The love I feel is for all of Gods world. I know that every living
thing is part of God and I feel a love deep with every person, and all
trees, and flowers, every bird, river, ocean and for all the creatures in
all the world. I live my life in loving service being the best me I can
becoming wiser in the perfection of divine truth, becoming happier in the
joy of unconditional love.

Subject: tax humor - Deduction Denied
(This letter is supposed to be true, and from the files of a "national
tax preparation company". It is apparently a copy of a letter to the IRS
that was written in response to a rejection of dependents claimed).
Dear Sirs:
I am responding to your letter denying the deduction of 2 of the 3
dependents I claimed on my 1994 Federal Tax Return. THANK YOU! I have
questioned whether these are my children for years; they are evil and
expensive.
THIS YEAR THEY ARE YOURS! It's only fair since they are minor and not my
responsibility, and the government apparently knows something about them.
You MAY wish to apply next year to re-assign them to me and reinstate the
deduction.
The oldest, Kristen, is now 17. She is brilliant, just ask her! I suggest
you put her to work in your office, where she can answer people's questions
about their returns. While she has no formal training, it has not seemed to
hamper her knowledge of any other subject you can name.
Taxes should be a breeze. Next year, she is going to college. I think it
is wonderful that you will now be responsible for that little expense.
While you mull that over, keep in mind that she has a truck... it doesn't
run at the moment so you have the decision of appropriating some Department
of Defense funds to fix it, or getting up early to drive her to school.
Kristen also has a boyfriend, Oh Joy! While she possesses all the wisdom
of the universe, her alleged mother and I have felt it best to occasionally
remind her of the virtues of abstinence, and in the face of overwhelming
passion, safe sex. This is always uncomfortable and I am quite relieved
you will be handling this in the future. (May I suggest that you reinstate
Joycelyn Elders, who had a rather good handle on the problem.)
Patrick is 14. I've had my suspicions about this one. His eyes are a
little close together for normal people. He may be a tax examiner himself
one day, if you do not incarcerate him first. In February, I was awakened
at 3:15 in the morning by a police officer who was bringing Pat home; he
and his friends were "TPing" houses. Would you like him delivered to the
local IRS office, or to Ogden, UT? Kids at 14 will do almost anything on a
dare; his hair is purple - permanent dye? What's the big deal? Learn to
live with it. You have plenty of time as he is setting out a few days of
school after instigating a food fight. I'll take care of filing your phone
number with the vice-principal. Oh yes, he and all his friends are
suffering from raging hormones - This is the house of testosterone, and it
will be so much more peaceful once he moves in with you. Warning: Do Not
leave him unsupervised with girls, explosives, inflammables, inflatables,
vehicles or telephones (I'm sure you will want to lock out all 900 and 976
numbers!)
Heather is an alien, She slid through a time warp and appeared quite by
magic one year. I am SURE this one is yours! She is 10, going on 21. She
must have came from a bad trip in the sixties. She wears tie-dyed clothes,
beads, sandals, and hair that looks like Tiny Tim's.
Fortunate for you, you will be raising my taxes to offset the pinch of
paying for her remedial reading courses. Hooked on Phonics is expensive so
the schools have dropped it, but you can buy it yourself for half the
amount of the deduction you are denying! It is quite obvious we were
terrible parents (ask the other two kids) so they have helped raise this
one to a new level of terror. She cannot speak English, while most people
under 20 understand the 'lingua franca' she has fashioned out of Valley
Girls/Boys-in-the-Hood/Reggae/Yuppie/Political Doublespeak, I don't. She
wears hats backwards, pants baggy, wants one of her ears pierced 4 more
times, and there is a fascination with tattoos that worries me, but I am
sure you can handle it. Bring a truck when you come for her, as she sort
of "nests" in her room, and I think it would be easier to move the entire
thing than trying to find out what is really in there.
You denied 2 of the 3 exemptions, so it is only fair that you get to pick
which two you will take. I prefer you take the youngest, I will still go
bankrupt putting Kristen through college, but then I'm free! If you take
the two oldest, then I still have time to get counseling before Heather
becomes a teenager. If you take the two girls, maybe I can put Patrick in
a military academy!
Please let me know of your decision as soon as possible, as I have already
increased the withholding on my W-2 to cover the $395.00 additional tax and
make a down payment on an airplane.

Desiderata II
In whatever religion you have been taught, however you have been brought
up, and however you have understood your teachers ... on these levels you
will understand and grasp this message. It is not enough that this message
be believed. It is a message to be lived. The essence of Universal
Religion is Peace and Truth, with Love for and Kindness to all creatures of
the earth. Now is the time to express this essence in your own life. A
beginning must be made, and the place to begin is with and in yourself.
You would reform the world? Begin with yourself, brother! The message of
the unreformed reformer seldom inspires reformation. The heart of all
religion is love. And righteousness, which is love in action, is the
fulfillment of religion. Love not only family and friends! For love
limited is love denied. Seek peace within yourself and seek, too within
yourself the Divine Breath of Life. Persist in these things! Do not let
up for a single moment! Through your faith and through your deeds you
shape your life and help shape the lives of others, as well. What a
responsibility! The Spirit finds in you its agent and also its partner,
and to the degree that you are aware of this and act on it there will be a
realization of the Oneness of all. Differences between the various
Religions will disappear. The good, which is in each of them, will be
fused and will become the common goal of all mankind. Know that you have
the power to choose! Choose Love, not hate; choose gentleness, not
violence, choose holiness, not evil! Dare to believe the Reign of Love and
Peace is coming soon! Ready yourself for it! Ready yourself for it with
deeds of righteousness! Righteousness is the door-opener, and beyond the
door is love. May power divine enter every aspect of your life endowing it
with the rewards of material accomplishments, the treasures of purposeful
existence, and the eternal light of spiritual achievement!
